Antique French Mustard Pot

18th century French mustard pot of lovely proportions, finished in a beautiful soft grey glaze with a wonderfully timeworn surface. The pot has been primitively engraved by hand with “HV PARIS”, giving the piece additional character and making it a particularly appealing and unusual example.
While French mustard pots are highly collectable, this larger-sized example stands out for both its scale and charming hand-engraved detail. There is some age-related discolouration and minor nibbles to the base, all entirely in keeping with its age and adding to its authentic antique charm.
A beautiful and versatile decorative piece, perfect for use with flowers, kitchen utensils, pens or brushes, or simply displayed on a shelf as part of a country house or rustic interior.
