Pair of 19th Century Victorian Sporting Dog Chimney Pieces
A charming pair of 19th-century Victorian sporting dog chimney pieces, beautifully cast in blackened cast iron. Heavy and wonderfully sturdy, each has a flat back designed to sit neatly against a fire mantel.
The dogs have lovely character and make an appealing decorative pair, with their dark aged finish working particularly well in a traditional country house setting. One dog has a small casting miss on the haunch, although this is not noticeable when viewed from the front.
A great pair for framing a fireplace or simply displaying amongst other country house curios and sporting antiques.
