Victorian Two-Tone Stoneware Preserve Jar

A lovely Victorian stoneware preserve jar with a beautifully simple two-tone glaze in warm, neutral tones. Full of the understated character and charm that makes old utilitarian stoneware so appealing.

A wonderfully versatile little jar with so many uses around the home. Perfect as a small vase for garden flowers, a pot for pens or artist’s brushes, or simply displayed on a shelf amongst other antique and vintage finds. It looks particularly lovely grouped with other pieces of old stoneware in varying shapes and sizes.

Handmade in the 1800s, each jar is individual, with subtle variations in the glaze, colour and shape. Historical marks, wear and small imperfections are all part of its age and authentic character.

Why did I source this?

I do not have a specific style. Instead, I buy an eclectic mix of what catches my interest. I appreciate the workmanship and quality in antique and vintage items. Every item speak to you, making you wonder about their past, and who cared for them before you.
