Beautiful French chalk figure from Lourdes depicting Mary.
This religeous figure is Victorian and has all the age related time worn softness of a much loved chalk figure, the paint had worn from handling and there a chips and marks. All this adds to the characture of the piece and gives it its attractive appeal. There is a small air bubble hole at the front of the head veil, this would have happened at the casting stage so is historical and is part of this figures story.
