French lidded soup bowl

Charming antique French lidded soup bowl finished in a rich deep blue glaze with hand-painted white polka dots and stripe detailing. Full of rustic provincial character, the bold colour and naïve decoration make this a wonderfully eye-catching and decorative piece.
There are a few small nibbles to the edges of the lid and to the foot of the bowl, consistent with age and use, but these do little to detract from its overall appeal. A beautifully characterful piece that would sit perfectly in a farmhouse or country-style interior.
