Sunderland Luster jug

C19 Sunderland Lustre jug in a beautiful soft pink, featuring the charming transfer print titled The Ages of Man. The image depicts the sixth stage of life from the famous Seven Ages of Man monologue in William Shakespeare's play As You Like It.
There is some age-related discolouration to the glaze in places along with a couple of small nibbles, but overall the jug remains in superb condition for its age and displays beautifully.
With its rich pink lustre finish and fascinating literary connection, this is a wonderful original antique with an impressive shelf presence. A lovely collectible piece for enthusiasts of Sunderland lustre ware, literary memorabilia or early nineteenth-century ceramics.
