Victorian Beehive Stoneware Ink Bottle

A wonderfully tactile Victorian beehive ink bottle, handmade from salt-glazed stoneware in a lovely soft, neutral colour palette.

These unusual cone-shaped bottles were cleverly designed with a sturdy, wider base to help prevent them from being knocked over and spilling their precious ink. Their distinctive shape and simple utilitarian design give them such character and make them particularly appealing decorative pieces today.

Lovely displayed just as they are on a shelf, desk or amongst a collection of old stoneware, or repurposed as a charming little bud vase with a single garden flower or sprig of foliage.

Handmade during the 1800s, each bottle is individual, with subtle variations in shape, glaze and finish along with historical marks and signs of age, all part of their authentic character and charm.
